Last Tuesday the Gutts hosted the Clattershack open-mic session at the Crown in Chislehurst. Lots of good performances -
check out the
Missouri Gutts myspaceo for Lee's report
On Wednesday Stoney Ground ( Paul and me ) played a gig at the Sun in Bredegar near Sittingbourne. Unfortunately there weren't many people there - I put it down to the atrocious weather - but we played really well and our set is really coming togehter now. The rest of the Gutts were hosting the session at Chez Anchor in Sevenoaks and they also had a comparatively quiet night.
Nick and I went to the Lewin, Jacques, and Black gig at the Glenmore last Friday where a good time was had by all.
Saturday it was down to the Good Intent in Rochester for Carol's (Calgarry - see links) birthday bash. Lots of very good performances. One of the highlights for me was Bananadrama's rendition of "Telephone Man".( I'd love to get a recording of that ). On my way home I was listening to the Bob Harris show and he had guests Josh Joplin and Garrison Starr in the studio. They played some stuff from their "Among the Oak and Ash" album and damn good it was too. I've added a link to their Myspace on the side of this page,
Last night (Sunday) I attended the Riverside Folk Club at the Fighting Cocks in Horton Kirby and tried out a couple of new "Folked-up" pop/rock songs - Get it on, and Do it again.
This Tuesday Paul and I will be hosting our regular monthly open-mic session at the Tudor Rose in Upnor.
Some recordings made at last month's open-mic session have been posted on the Rust-E-Can Myspace site at
